Teen Tech Week, sponsored by the Young Adult Library Services Association, encourages teens to take advantage of the library's technology resources. Bedford Public Library System is celebrating Teen Tech Week with a video contest!

Create an original video to promote the 2010 Teen Summer Reading Program!

Teen Video Contest Rules:

Can I Enter:

If you are a Bedford County teen aged 13-19, you may enter either as an individual or with a team.

What Do I Do:

Create a video 2 minutes long on the theme "Submerge Yourself at the Library". The content of the video should include information about how you use and enjoy the Bedford Public Library System. The video should also include images of water, water sports, fish, sea life, etc.

Videos may not contain inappropriate content, must be original work, and must adhere to all applicable copyright laws. Credits listing song titles and artists should be included. Any borrowed images should also be credited.

All videos must be directed, filmed and edited by teens. All entries are subject to screening by library staff.

When Do I Enter:

Entries may be submitted from February 15 through March 5. Videos will be voted on through the library Facebook page during Teen Tech Week, March 7-13.

How Do I Enter:

1. Create a video and email it to yslibrarian@bplsonline.org. After review by library staff, videos will be posted to the library Facebook page for voting.

2. Submit your entry using this form. Forms are also available at each branch library.

How Do I Win:

Vote for your favorite video March 7-13 on the library Facebook page. In case of a tie, library staff members will determine the winner(s). Winners will be notified during the week following voting.

What Do I Win: The first place entrant(s) will receive a $25 gift certificate of their choice, to be shared in the event of a team entry. This entry will be used in promotional materials for the 2010 Teen Summer Reading Program which will begin in June. The second place entrant(s) will receive a $15 gift of their choice.
